IN THE BELLY OF THE ZOMBIE!
In Kraliçe Resurrects, I used a version of the system to produce vinyl words including “salatalık,” “sigortalı,” and “surrealist,” applying them to the interior walls of SALT Beyoğlu without permission. These words recombine the letters S, A, L, and T within other meanings, rewriting the institution’s name across its own walls. These actions returned the discarded system to the institution as an active method whose use it no longer determined.
About Kraliçe Typeface Program (2011-2021)
Kraliçe is an open typographic system and identity program created by Project Projects for the cultural institution SALT in Istanbul. The institution's sign was created with a typeface using the letters S-A-L-T, and designers were invited to reinterpret these four letters periodically reframing both the typeface and the institution's identity.
